Niger Triggerfish originates from the Indo Pacific Ocean. The name Triggerfish was given because of the first dorsal fin that is used to lock the fish in place when it takes cover in between rocks or crevices. Any cleaner shrimp added after the trigger will likely be eaten. The coloration of the Niger Triggerfish is spectacular to see if it is kept under proper lighting. This species needs a varied diet of meaty foods including; squid, krill, clams, small fish and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever-growing teeth.
